Man, scoring head shots on ants is going to be a little harder than what I'm used to, but at least I can use my AirSoft, instead of the real guns! Grin

On a more serious note; Twenty years from now, will this still look like it was a good idea?

Probably not, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. One disaster at a time.

Considering fireants are immigrants, adding another immigrant doesn't seem the smartest move, but if this newcomer is a natural and original predator, I guess it can't be that bad, although, as always, but I bet there is an unintended consequence.

Sorry... it's my job to "what if" everything, and old habits die hard.   Always thinking about that disaster around the bend.

I'm joking Smiley It seems to be the government's policy to be shortsighted. Not just the USA, all of them. The bigger their action, the bigger the disaster.

It will all balance out in the end. Let's just hope that people don't end up on the negative side of the equation. These things may decide that human skulls are better targets (easier to hit, for one) and the next thing you know, you have a non productive human walking around aimlessly. Oh, wait, that sounds like an improvement in some cases...

Can they be made to target certain dioceses?

I'm just wondering...

Well, if they aren't wearing the traditional proper headgear...

I thought so Smiley
With their shortsightedness, they can try to become 'saviors' when they come up with a 'solution'.  Even if they don't have a solution, the will work toward one, thereby providing themselves with job security.

I've seen plenty of those in my life.  You'll find a lot of them in our nation's capitol.

I hope it works better than some of their experiments.

It was U-GA that imported those Japanese lady bugs that now infest homes.  Mostly, they have to be vacuumed up in large numbers but they do bite and they also stink if you have to smash one that keeps landing on you.  I don't know what they were supposed to do, probably prey on some other insect.

I think U-GA imported kudzu, too.  The horror. . .

Athens is a great town, though.

Oh, believe me, I'm GA Tech all the way - but i almost went to school at GA...they've done some good, even though I'm not supposed to admit that Roll Eyes

they're the best for aphids...they really are. Some of the best organic pest control, ever.

I know they get in some people's houses... just tell them their house is on fire, they'll leave.

I don't think so.... That was the Soil Conservation people's bright idea.

Pretty crappy choice - either have the entire southeast erode down to nothing, or have it covered in a big green monster.

....fun times.... Wink
