P.S. I can't understand why anyone would think they would have their discussions in Latin - that would be just anal-retentive.

If by "anal-retentive" you mean "totally awesome," I agree.

Even beyond that; there are probably less than 50 people in the entire world who can really truly speak latin fluently, as naturally as they speak English, and I'd wager that a good proportion of them are humanist or episcopalian Classics professors Tongue

Yeah, well, you gotta start somewhere, right? Besides, if the Finns can have regular Latin-language radio news broadcasts, surely the Vatican can take heart! http://www.yleradio1.fi/nuntii/

Discussions are being held in Italian and sometimes French

When I heard Bp. Fellay talk about this a while back in an interview, I think he said there'd be many sessions, as many as necessary.

How about awesomely anally retentive?

I don't suppose that anyone has heard of how the talks are going?

I heard H.E. Bishop de Galaretta speaking on it London a month ago. The talks are civil, but there is little hope for reconcilliation; the aim, at the moment, is to make clear the SSPX and Vatican positions on doctrine - soon they shall talk about the Mass however, which should be interesting.
