So you dye your beard brown? It looked brown from the picture.

Now we know that the beard isn't what we thought it was for, it's all for vanity...  Wink

God made it for a reason.

Its main purpose is to keep my face warm when it is cold, to keep it cool when it is hot out, to get compliments from strangers, and to make my niece act awkward when I give her a good bye kiss.

Ha! And I all this time I thought that the purpose of having a beard was for man to humbly cooperate with God's design.  Smiley

I am really wanting to see this movie. I think I must have some vague masochistic streak in me when it comes to horror movies. I have an incredibly active imagination and a dark room at night only magnifies this to near maddening levels. Give me an ordinary pile of clothes thrown on a rocking chair in a dark room and I'll guarantee you I'll discern a face and a hand clutching a hatchet amidst its silhouette!

Regardless ... I am seeing this movie!

In Corde Regis,
Joshua

Bring this one home, turn up the volume, turn off the lights, isolate yourself in the house, and then watch it without any disturbances (that means no popcorn Entertained and Safe ).

Just don't develop impossible and unreasonable expectations that will assuredly let you down hard when the movie doesn't meet them. Expect less and you will get more. Maybe you won't even like it...

I can't watch it then. I'm disturbed by nature.

I'm sorry, I'm sure which way to read it:

It is a product of your very nature to be disturbed...

...or you are disturbed by natural things?

I doubt it. If they had the same problem, they'd be in prison.

One must keep a low profile...

Indeed. However, I want to ask a question, but if the answer would be too much of a spoiler than a PM would be fine. Is the outcome/premise of this movie somewhat reconcilable with what the Church teaches on "these matters".

In a word... YES! But that still doesn't make it suitable viewing.

WHY do y'all watch horror/ scary movies?

I'm really curious... I've never understood why people willingly watch something that scares them so much.

I don't get it.

It's the "thrill gene." Like going to rock concerts and riding rollercoasters, bungee jumping or white water rafting. Horror movies and haunted houses give the same adrenaline rush.

I don't have a real "thrill gene" so I don't like horror movies. I just like good old fashioned ghost stories around the campire. No adrenaline rush.... just a few goosepimples.
