I have one St. Therese of The Child Jesus in progress. Size 1
 Should be very cute.

What are you ladies cooking up this year?

Also, what store bought pattern do you use to "fit" All Saints Day.  Last year I just bought wings/halos, and said my baby was a guardian angel. I think I have seen a "lamb of God" before as well. What do you do?

Does anyone know of a good saint for a 20-something college student with no sewing skills/talent whatsoever to do?  I was thinking of getting a black or brown hooded robe with some sandals, and going with a brother or monk, lol.

Sorry for the slight hijack!  :-P

You could dress as Blessed Padre Miguel Pro in one of his disguises. Cobble together something from a vintage shop ...

Good ideas here:

I liked their suggestion for Moses: red robe, white beard, gray cardboard "tablets."

You could also dress as St. Benedict.  Black hooded robe and carry his Rule.

Or you could get all crafty with some aluminum foil and cardboard and fashion some "armor" and a "sword" for a St. George costume (wear with white sheet...ahem...I mean tunic...with red cross).

I am too fat and tired to make costumes this year, so Mr. Is Nice and my parents are having the kids go as St. Thomas More, St. Edmund Campion, and St. Margaret Clitherow.  I'll just take the pictures  Laughing

for little kids, the largest adult hooded, long - sleeved t-shirt you can find with a cord around the waist.

Add sandals, and then have them carrying the symbol of whover they are - Daniel carrying an old stuffed lion, or Anthony holding a lily and a baby, etc...

If you have Lucy carrying around a plate of eyeballs, though - glue them on really well to avoid freaked out (REALLY freaked out) children if they fall off.

Most pattern companies sell the "nativity" scene costumes.  You can use the white under-tunic in long length for all types of saint costumes - add capes, veils, etc for all kinds of Roman martyrs....carry appropriate props for each saint.  For instance, for St. Lucy, one year we made some polymer-clay eyeballs and glued them on a small plastic plate.  St. Agnes can carry a stuffed lamb, etc.

There is also a pattern for a cassock in men's and boys sizes.  Use this for any priest-saint, or make it in white for a pope.  We did a great Pope Pius X this way.  Also can use for St. Elizabeth Seton, if you make the bonnet and short cape thing.

Just out of curiosity - what is your St. Margaret wearing on her head?  Your post sparked my  mind, and although I have a dress that would work, St. Margaret has this characteristic bonnet that looks kind of hard to duplicate....
