These are some very nifty woodcuts from the tract
Ars Memorandi, produced in the latter half of the 15th century in southern Germany. The book is very brief, and includes summaries for each chapter of the Gospel, along with woodcut engravings combining representations of each chapter. By impressing the images upon the memory, and being mindful of what the various images represent, it is possible to improve one's familiarity with the Gospels. And so the book enjoyed great popularity.

The Gospel of John
1. In the beginning was the Word; on the eternity of the Word and on the Trinity.
2. There was a marriage made in Cana of Galilee; and how Christ overturned the tables off the money-changers.
3. And there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus. ["Born again," the image is that of open privy-members on the eagle]
4. How Jesus asked the Samaritan woman for a drink at Jacob's well and on the rule.
5. On the pond [piscina] called Probatica [Bethesda] where Jesus said to the sick man "Take up thy bed and walk."
6. On the feeding with five loaves and two fishes and on the Eucharist.
The images continue with the rest of John's chapters, then the other Gospels.
