Does anyone have a copy of the Octavarium Romanum? It seems to be rather rare, especially any recent editions.

I do. Let me know if you'd like a particular lection. I can't promise immediacy, but I will get it to you sooner or later.....

Do you have the Office for the octave of St. Martin of Tours (November 11-18)? It would probably be only the Octave day.

Nothing specific in the Octavarium as far as I can see, but I do have a couple of old French Propers....

Propers for the Octave?

The other odd thing about his feast is that he's one of the few saints whose feast is a Double, but has proper Antiphons and Psalms at Vespers, Matins, and Lauds, and the Scripture Lessons in the I Nocturn are in the Common. I was hoping there'd be some rubric on what to do on the Octave day - normally, everything's ferial, but since his feast is normally proper and normally a Double, I've said it as on the feast. And then there was a couple years ago when his Octave day fell on Sunday - the Sunday has precedence over the Octave day, the Octave day has precedence over the Dedication of the Basilicas of Ss. Peter and Paul (Nov. 18, a Greater Double), but the Dedication, as a Feast of the Lord, has precedence over the Sunday. I ended up saying the Office of the Dedication with a Commemoration and Lesson ix of the Sunday, and Commemoration of the Octave day at both Vespers and Lauds.

For the Octave Day. Apparently given the number of intervening saints days, Propers for the Octave were considered unnecessary.

You did it correctly. According to a decree of the Congregation of Rites, in such a situation, the Dedication is observed and the Sunday and Octave Day commemorated.

Good to know I guessed right. Smiley And I liked that I got to say the Office for the Dedication at least in some years.

And I meant Octave day - I knew all the days in between are Double or Semidouble feasts, so he's only commemorated on those days, but I thought there might be proper Lessons for the 18th and wasn't sure which Psalms to use, either.

One more Octavarium question: is there an Octave for the Feast of the Holy Trinity?

An online traditional Martyrology would be useful.
