So I saw the new one over the weekend.  The friends I went with were somewhat disappointed, but I thought it was pretty good (for a sequel at least.. definitely worth seeing).  They splashed it with more humor than the first, which I thought detracted a bit.  I did go in not expecting it to be as good as the first, but I also didn't expect a setup for a third in full hollywood style (should have, but didn't).  I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but with Texican's new avatar, I figure there has got to be at least one other person here who ran out to see it by now.

Thoughts from anyone?

There's a few here that are looking forward to seeing it, if they haven't already.  I haven't, yet.  Maybe this weekend, if I'm not working.
So, not as good as the first, you think?

I haven't seen any Troy Duffy films, but he was the centerpiece of possibly the most cringe-worthy documentary of all time. It's called Overnight and it was released in 2003. The makers follow him around for 5 years after Harvey Weinstein of Miramax fame buys his Boondocks script for a huge chunk of change (even buys the bar he once worked at and becomes partners with him). During this time his band signs a deal with a major record company, too. So he's got a major movie deal with all the top actors interested, and a major deal for his band, and he basically throws it all way by turning off everyone he comes into contact with. It's just one awkward scene after another of his ginormous arrogance on display. I cant imagine that anything coming from that guy's head would be of the slightest bit of interest.

My husband and I want to see it but it is in limited release and is not likely to show in our neck of the woods.

LOL....no

Sacramento area.  Hardly the boondocks.  It seems the only places it is playing in California is in the LA area.
