Well...isnt this a type of recognition then? They gave a Catholic the prize for helping Jews. Sure, its probably not enough recognition, but we'll never get that, lets be honest. I think what this lady did was amazing, and should be honored. She save many lives, of poor little babies, risking her own life the whole time.

No, the point is Al Gore got the prize over her. He did...something about saving whales or trees or something.

It's interesting that so many in the carbon-footprint camp are so firmly against the use of wood. One of the co-founders of Greenpeace has actually come out and advocated the responsible use of wood products: trees (especially young, fast-growing trees) are great at fixing atmospheric carbon, and the more trees we plant and turn into wooden objects, the more atmospheric carbon is fixed. Very seldom do you hear this from environmentalists in the Gore camp.

Well, that would make sense, and it's not sensational, to you probably won't hear it on the MSM.  All you hear now, is CO2, as if man created it, and was using it to destroy the world.  Never mind the fact that most of it is naturally occurring, and used by plants.

I remember hearing about this at the time.

Are you aware that no pope has won the Nobel Peace Prize EVER?  That should tell you something.

A truly good and courageous pope, especially during this age, should never even be remotely considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.  A good pope would clarify the supremacy of the Catholic religion above all others - and this would be seen by the world as an act contrary to their idea of peace.  But, with all of this being said, I am surprised that John Paul II didn't receive it, since he was a man of the world who praised false religions and encouraged them to pray to their false gods at Assisi (remember, he called it a "prayer meeting for world peace) without ever encouraging them to convert to the only Faith that saves.  If we ever get a pope who courageously stands up for the Traditional Faith - he will be hated by the modern world.  He will be called out by the liberals as a tyrant who opposes the work of peace.  This proves just how much the true Faith is no longer preached in the post-conciliar Church.

A socialist medal for a bunch of socialist whackos. Al Gore and Barack Hussein Obama are two of the best examples of the lowest form of trash put on this planet. This award is and has been meaningless for some time. Global warming is nothing more than a power grab by the elite ruling class and they will stop at nothing to subjugate the world and institue their new world order. To hell with them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad I shall never win the Nobel peace prize.....because I heat my home with wood.....and I LIKE IT!
I also love to burn my paper trash in a burn barrel Embarrassed  I am hopelessly not green.....even though I was green all through my 20's way before being "green" was cool and hip.

I read about this lady in a Latin Mass magazine, AWESOME person.....God bless her and may she recieve a beautiful crown in heaven.  She does not need some stupid worldly prize, handed over by the minions of Satan.

The Grace of God our Savior hath appeared to all men, instructing us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world, looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us form all iniquity, and might cleanse to Himself a people acceptable, a pursurer of good workd.  These things speak, and exhort:  in Christ Jesus our Lord.
