They are the instrument of the government's dreadful global interventionist foreign policy, period, and have been for longer than I've been alive. This same foreign policy is the direct cause of much, if not all, of the reduction in our liberties. Do we have to run down the list of legislative intrusions again? 

Worship of the military in this country is unhealthy and epidemic. The Founders wisely feared and warned us of foreign intervention and the standing armies it requires as preeminent threats to the liberties they bequeathed us. They were dead right, and they have been ignored at our peril. And it's going to get worse.

When this or the next POTUS/Emperor of the World declares martial law for whatever homegrown excuse he deems necessary, just who the hell do you think will be at the spearhead of the final demolition of what's left of our liberties? ACORN?
