Guys will reject a nice woman because she's plain. Or skinny. Both of those are easy to fix.

Gaining weight can actually be quite difficult... Laughing

Oh I feel so awful for you, so, so awful!   Sob Story
no doubt....

I'm the one who's being rejected for being too skinny!
Must suck...I look like a beached whale at the moment...feel like one too!

As in...once, right now?  Or as in this is constantly happening?  Because if you are constantly being rejected for being too skinny, in CA...that's pretty weird.  However, I believe I have the solution for you:

I am so hungry right now. I'm going to go and eat two pounds of turkey or something. Thanks...

I have a guy friend who can't get any bigger than he is (which is pretty darn skinny).  I've never understood this.  Do you ever try and just eat french fries and cheesecake?...every hour?

I've known people like that. There are some people whose bodies cannot support much mass. This doesn't mean they are healthier though; their arteries and innards react the exact same way.

It can be hard for people with bodies types like that.

Yeah, he has a hard time with it because if he lifts weights or anything nothing happens either.  That shouldn't be a problem for a girl though.

I just don't understand what is happening physiologically when someone increases their fat and calorie intake by 3 or 4 times and doesn't gain a pound.

There are many variables. Most of the time, the extra food is just discarded.

My husband is pretty skinny, the dude simply CANNOT gain weight. When we were first married, he would blow about 400 a month on those weight gain shakes, he put on maybe 5 lbs, and lost it all and then some, when we couldnt afford that anymore! Hes 31 now, i bet if he quit smoking he would gain, his metabolism has gotta slow down at some point.

He's a typical "hardgainer" ectomorph.  They spend weeks in the gym doing silly routines out of bodybuilding magazines which are entirely innapropriate for them; continue to expend a tonne of energy outside the gym;  and don't consume enough calories for growth.  Nothing that can't be corrected with a bit of knowledge.
