As if the Medjagoogoo crowd needed something else to carry on about, they are now apparently getting a visit from none other then Cardinal Schönborn. It seems he must need a break from a hectic schedule of baloon masses, pop masses and complaining about the Pope's choice of Bishop's for Austria, so he seems to be taking a nice private break to a non-approved apparition site that has been repeatedly condemned by the local ordinary and the local Bishop's conference. Saddened, but unfortunately not all that surprised. http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=4634

"O MARY, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
"Teach them that just as there is only one God, one Christ, one Holy Spirit, so there is also only one truth which is divinely revealed. There is only one divine faith which is the beginning of salvation for mankind and the basis of all justification, the faith by which the just person lives and without which it is impossible to please God and to come to the community of His children. There is only one true, holy, Catholic church, which is the Apostolic Roman Church. There is only one See founded in Peter by the word of the Lord, outside of which we cannot find either true faith or eternal salvation. He who does not have the Church for a mother cannot have God for a father, and whoever abandons the See of Peter on which the Church is established trusts falsely that he is in the Church." - Pius IX, Singulari Quidem.

Maybe he's bringing some strobe lights and DJs to help with their rather slow and boring music they got from the neocats:

When did the Church officially condemned those who attend Medjugirje? If never, why is it heretic to be informed about it? In my world people, especially cardinal-bishops should be well informed about things, which have influence close to their territory. What is better source of being informed that visit the place?

The bishop of Medjugorje and the Church has forbidden pilgrimages to Medjugorje. That is the official stance of the Vatican. Catholics are not allowed to go there.
That does not stop the million dollar tourism pilgrimage industry that ignores all this and takes clueless Catholics for a ride. There is a lot of money and most of it from the U.S. because Americans flock there.

In my world people, especially cardinal-bishops should be well informed about things, which have influence close to their territory. What is better source of being informed that visit the place? Off the top of my head, 3 consecutive Bishops of Mostar have said there is nothing supernatural going on in Medjugoogoo (not in the good way, anyway), and that pilgrimages organised by clergy or that somehow speak to the authenticity of the apparition are not permitted. From my understanding, it is basically OK if you just want to go to the area and see the sites (whatever they may be), but you can't go because of your belief in the so called apparitions. Now, ask yourself this, what message do you think people will get when a senior Cardinal visits this place? Do you really think people are goingto view it as a fact finding mission, or do you think they are going to take it as some kind of implicit recognition of the authenticity of what is going on in Medjugorje? If Cardinal Schonborn really wants to know what is going on, there are plenty of ways of finding out without visiting a site agains the express wishes of the local ordinary. Blessings, Steve
