Just look at that old Queen Trautperson. Nice to see the Bishops actually did the right thing for once.

I'm glad and I'm sure it will be approved by Pope Benedict in April of this year. My only gripe is that it probably won't take effect until Advent 2012.

It ain't over yet.

There's still some wiggle room for the publishers. I bet OCP has the next decade's worth of missalettes already printed.

Just look at that old Queen Trautperson.

I don't have much use for him, but that was just unnecessary.

That stinks. I was hoping it'd go in effect by Advent 2010.

Probably not but of all the Bishops ones that moved child molestors around or try to dismantle the liturgy get under my skin the most.

And then there are the "Presider of the assembly" in the NO like mine that just add lib the Mass as they go anyway.

I think it should. I don't see why it shouldn't or can't if the Pope approves it this April. The longer they wait the more nervous I get. But I believe I heard on EWTN radio this morning that the following year, 2011, was the goal.

Bishop Trautman's proposal was submitted to vote, with the majority of bishops supporting Cardinal George's decision to accept the Vatican translation 194-20.

About this is the real division between the arch liberals (20) and the mainstream (194)

As for the time may be the bishops will remember how fest the mistranslation was forced over. The US can be a force for the good direction again.

I am surprised that this many voted for it.

I think the Bishops are plenty aware of the complete and utter shamble that the Liturgy in the Roman Rite finds it self in. This is but one of many steps that need to be taken to as one Bishop put it, "exorcise" the spirit of Vatican II from the Church.

I'm p'ed off too if it won't happen for a couple of years, but patience is a good thing. The truth is, it'll take at least a year of rabid reaction against it until local priests/ parishes either cut themselves off completely, go along grudgingly or celebrate it. However long it takes, Benedict wil have put it into action. Another small concrete move towards regaining a bit of what was lost.
