I just got this game yesterday. I played it until the wee hours of the morning (which, I don't normally do).

It is a great game. It is one of the few games where the story, the action, the enemy A.I., the lack of suicidal civilians you must protect, the lack of idiot (or any) team members, the music and the graphics are all great. The enemy A.I. was very good. Even in Easy they surprised me with their ability to work as a team and not be cannon fodder.

It is one of the few games where the story telling devices used are used properly throughout the entire game. This makes it a tad draining though.

I gave up on it. It was scary at first (almost too scary) but then it just became repetitive. How many basements can I walk through and retain interest?

I didn't get to that point. Not sure how good computer game naked people would look. Probably not life-like enough to inspire lust.

well I guess people are different that way, some people might be tempted whereas others wouldnt, I guess the best thing to do morally speaking is not look at it at all. Trust me though Ive been there when theres a game you really wanna play but you have to make the hard choice when it turns out to be unacceptable. I guess its down to how much you care about your soul at the end of the day. But its not like its an easy thing to do when theres just that one game you want.....im think here at the moment of dragon age origins.....

I played a quest game once (that I forget the name of) that involved slaying dragons and at one point the player is offered the choice to continue the quest or engage in an orgy with two slaves. I was dumbfounded because there was nothing like this in any other section of the game. It seems like it was just put in there for purely malicious reasons. I suppose a good argument could be made that all video games that involve "slaughtering the enemy" will corrupt the soul. I played GTA once and stopped never to return because it was just too sleazy.

She isn't mean to anyway. She is designed to look shriveled and decaying during a hallucination (where detail in everything is shaky) That image is better than what you see in the game.

There was mild repetition, but that is realistic. I mean, did you expect to be transported to different environments without reason? It stays focused on the story. The game is not long.

How far did you get? Did you get to fight the assassins?

Beats me; you must have been lost.

For those who do try to avoid nudity, I do not think FEAR will be a problem. When you do see her, you see almost nothing and if she is close enough to see any sort of detail (like that image), you are too close. That is the one point in the game where she can kill you.

The second game, FEAR 2: Project Origin does have more detail in it and you interact with her a lot more (you are a different character). She repeatedly attacks you physically, but you can't really see much during these. She starts out (as an adult form) looking like this: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fear/images/b/be/Almapic.JPG (corpse like) and then she transforms into this:

WARNING: Although it is a computer image, and not much is shown, it would be very improper to look at a real person like this. Look at the article on "Alma Wade" on http://fear.wikia.com/wiki/ I do not think the images are pornographic, and that many people could see it without scandal, but it does represent a nude woman. This image is not found in FEAR, but in its sequel.

Well there's nothing titillating about that.

Again some people are more sensitive than others about purity. I know I a very good homeschooled guy who feels he cant even go into a video store, the temptation is so great for him.

I think make people make excuses all the time to justify there own actions, before anybody plays ANY game, they should give it a good review, youtube it, ask friends, etc. I think in the case of f.e.a.r despite the fact she dont look so good...shes still mostly naked. Make all the excuses you like that fact remains, and good Catholics generally try to guard their eyes from such things.

Im pretty shocked to be honest that you posted that link Rosarium, hope nobody commits any sins from looking at it.

True. It's probably best to take the pic down.

Are you saying I'm not a good Catholic? I honestly didn't even consider it or notice it.

I hope no one sins by looking at it either. However, I gave a description and ample warning so don't be "shocked". Unless you find computer sprites showing a woman's belly (which is all you really see, besides arms and her hair) to be inappropriate, I recommend you avoid classical art showing the human body at all, as that is nothing compared to it.

This forum is for adult conversation about real life, for real grown-ups, with most of us having grown up in the 70s and 80s. Leave the coyness, the fake shocked expressions, the tongue-clucking, the swooning, the unwillingness to properly name body parts, the Holy Card Impersonator schtick, the "Why, I nevah" stuff (especially when you most certainly did), and other such silliness to other people's forums. Prudery won't be tolerated. Leave any Puritanism back in the hands of 17th c. Calvinists and Jansenists; we are 21st c. Catholics here,

Any artwork showing Adam and Eve show a lot more, and that image is not intended to cause arousal at all. It is just a screen shot (probably) of a part of a game where someone is just looking at her (she is very short in the game, but I'm not sure if that is due to the height of the player or an illusion as she isn't really there).

You are one proud individual you know that? Youre making excuses for everything

Cant you just take the picture down. Have a little humility

Any yes I do think its innappropriate, it is a FAR cry from classical art...
