If you've read through the official rules of HLS, you'll notice that Round 10 is voter's choice. This means that YOU, the voter (not the contestants!) can select a karaoke track (find one on YouTube) that you want to be sung by one of the contestants. Depending on how many suggestions we get, your pick may or may not be sung, but at least it will have a chance. So what do you do? Go to YouTube and find a karaoke track of a song you want. Be sure that it is 3:30 or less After you've done that, go ahead and post it in this thread. Use the YouTube brackets to make sure it's noticed. Our official poll master, tmw89, will randomly assign one of these to each of our contestants for round ten. We'd like to have as many selections as possible by next week (Sunday, May 20) and then get the selections sent out so our singers have ample time to learn it. Recap: - Song needs to be 3:30 or less.
- Song needs to be in the format of a karaoke track (backing music, vocals printed on video)
- Song needs to abide by HLS rules (keep it clean!)
- Song may be any style
- Post it in this thread by the end of next Sunday (May 20)
- ONE SELECTION PER PERSON ONLY!

ONE SELECTION PER PERSON ONLY!
Why limit the choices?

Why limit the choices? So everyone has an equal chance to have theirs used.

Altering the pitch of the music is permissible.

How about selections for specific contestants? That would be better. Give the people what they want! People power!

Altering the pitch of the music is permissible. Can all the contestants do this? Is it that easy?

So, any karaoke video can be transposed without altering the speed? Amazing. Only karaoke videos, or any old kind?
And, does it absolutely have to be under 3:30? What if there are a few 15 bar interludes? Couldn't they be edited out by the contestant?

Complete time needs to be 3:30 or under, regardless of interludes. And changing the pitch will sound funny if done too much (I generally will only go up or down two half-steps) and the tempo will change slightly, but that can be corrected by then altering tempo back to the original. Sounds complicated, but it really isn't. Anyway, a number of karaoke tracks are already off-tempo to the original.
