By the way did you know that the Anglican ritual contains the same 8 words of consecration that are used in the Novus Ordo? So it is claimed in Fr. Trinchard's book "New Mass" (www.maeta.com).

Yes. The Anglican service is valid, if the priest has the proper intention. That is always a difficult thing, because unlike in the traditional rite, it is not supplied by the rite itself. Of course, the priest also must be validly ordained and thus have Holy Orders, and Anglicans do not.

This is a good comparison. Look at the huge chunks that are just missing from the NO "Mass"!  Its just a "watered-down" form of Catholicism.

Eric, I believe what you are referring to is called defect of intention of the framers of a rite, and it also invalidates (regardless of the individual minister's "intentions").
