Dear Ad,

Interesting site. Wouldn't u crush the baby by accidentally rolling on him?

Andy

I've heard of this happening but usually the parent was extremely drunk or on some sort of drugs. I did read somewhere that fathers are more prone to this than mom's (some sort of super mommy detector?) but that could be bunk.

James often sleeps with me (he's 2) even though he has his own room with his own (big boy) bed. He hits during the night too.  It does not make for restful sleep.

"I want my bedroom back and the diapers and toys removed immediately," said James Wilson.

Maybe he could give his children up for adoption.  There are many many couples who would love to devote their lives to the responsibilities of being a parent.  Then he could have his bedroom back.

Yes, the dads aren't as aware of what's going on while they are asleep.  Mother's can sense a change of breathing patterns in their babies.  I wouldn't want a 2 year old in my room, but all of our children are there until they are 1.  The crib is next to the bed and the changing supplies next to the crib.  I can't imagine having to walk into another room to nurse and change an infant in the middle of the night.

I kept both of my babies in my bed until they were about a year old, as well. It sure makes a difference in recovery after a c-section. I was able to get a lot more rest. Baby and Dad sleeps better, too.

I worked on the postpartum and newborn nursery floor as a CNA/Lactation Specialist many years ago, and we had a lot of dads and even mother-in-laws trying to get us to tell the mom that they were not allowed to have their babies in bed.

I have to stand with Brother James Wilson, and Liberal Jew on this one.

My wife insists on our kids sleeping in the bed with us, and has done so ever since the first one was born (I am still not too sure how the second one came along - ).

From the perspective of this young lad, the husband in the story seems..... immature.

It would be my guess that the wife is coming out ahead in the bargain.
