(sound of a rising whine in the background)

Campy, don't forget your 12 megawatt "portable pulsed particle-beam cannon"(or P3BC). It's charging up in the background as we type. Just in case you need some heavy-duty backup, that's all.

I hope that you and the rest of the torture loving types that are polluting this good forum might consider calming down and using your brains instead of sharpening your swords.

I had not noticed that this forum was being "polluted" by "torture loving types."  What are you talking about?  Links?  Examples?

I won't let a chance to wholeheartedly agree with you pass by.

Some would probably need to channel their religious zeal better.

You really think it's a good idea?

You must have missed Adoremus_In_Aeternum's "joke" pertaining to burning people to death.

I guess you missed "Campy's" allusions to the killing of the enemies of Christ with a sword and bow and arrow. You probably also missed his suggestion that the Kaaba of Mecca be blown up. There are many, many other such examples which the moderators have been removing.

If you have witnessed these things and see nothing wrong with them, then I'll point out that you, as a non-Catholic, would be in a pretty bad spot if people like "Campy" ever had any authority over anything. Not that that's likely to ever happen, thank God.

Actually, you said "The (sic) aren't Occultists ..." Which is incorrect. Eliphas Levi and Helena Blavatsky were two of the most clear examples of occultists that have ever lived.

It is also incorrect to say that "these people can probably be more accurately labeled cathars."

They were not Cathars so it's not "more accurate" to call them Cathars. And even if they were, Cathar beliefs were based upon occult philosophy, a fact which negates your original objection.

...an emoticon which depicts a person being burned to death, in conjunction with a reference to the Cathars who were slaughtered and burned to death in a thread that has nothing to do with Cathars ... Who's really foaming at the mouth here?

That kind of "humor" is becoming a bit too commonplace here. And it's not only my "sensitivities" that are offended by it. The owner of this website is quite tired of it and has stated so on many occasions. So you can take it up with her, which will get you nowhere, or find another website more friendly to your kind of "humor." Lord knows they're easy enough to find.

I am not going to argue over semantics. The beliefs represented in those quotes are cathari. If you want to call them occultists, it is no skin off my back but if it talks like a cathar and thinks like a cathar...

The Emoticon is of a bonfire. You know those things that you have on the beach during the summer? It is people building a fire, if you'll notice. The person being 'burned to death' is smiling which would seem to indicate that he is not, in fact, being burned to death. That you immediately assumed it was a person burning is the humorous element in this whole hoopla.

And how do you know what the fire would be used for? Perhaps it is to burn heretical writings? Everyone jumps to their own conclusions. I posted an emoticon of a bonfire, an emoticon that is presumably kosher in this forum since it hasn't been removed from the list by our gracious hostess.

I haven't seen anyone else use the bonfire emoticon. I have no idea what you are talking about. I have no need to take anything up with anyone because there is nothing amiss here. Out of all the people in the forum you are the only one who is anti-bonfire emoticon. Your opinions, while valued, are not dogma and this isn't your forum to expell people from.

Have a Wonderful Triduum.

That's exactly what you're doing and have been doing from the beginning.

No, actually they're not. Both of those quotes state nothing at all about duality. They state that the god they worship is Satan.

You're arguing against every respected researcher of these matters who unanimously identify Helena Blavatsky and Eliphas Levi as occultists.

Quote from: Adoremus_In_Aeternum
... but if it talks like a cathar and thinks like a cathar...

Yeah, but the problem is that it doesn't talk or think like a Cathar.

You think that I will believe that your intent was to use an emoticon depicting a fun day at the beach in reference to the Cathars whom legend holds were burned to death? Enough of this nonsense.

Quote from: Adoremus_In_Aeternum

I know because your original post stated, "They aren't Occultists, they are Cathars!" and nothing else but that, aside from the emoticon depicting a person being burned in a fire. You left no room for misinterpretation.

And perhaps it's really about a fun day at the beach. It's limitless, the possibilities.

I don't think our gracious hostess advocates "jokes" about burning people to death, but she can speak for herself.

If you haven't seen the violent tone in some people's posts here then you haven't been looking.

Now that you've backpedaled considerably, it may appear that way. But what concerns me is your original post.

When used as a joke in reference to a legend of people being burned to death? I imagine there's a lot of people here who would object to that. At least, I hope there are. Nevertheless, the general consensus isn't what we base our judgements upon anyway.

Quote from: Adoremus_In_Aeternum

There's no confusion there.

There's no confusion there either. But it's very clear that the owner of this site has had enough of the violence oriented posts that have been showing up here and wants them to stop, so you're arguing against her.

Apropos for today, from Matthew 26:

51 And behold one of them that were with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, drew out his sword: and striking the servant of the high priest, cut off his ear. 52 Then Jesus saith to him: Put up again thy sword into its place: for all that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
