HMiS, perhaps Quo Vadis Petre is meaning to point out with that quote not the fallacy of ending racism, but rather the manner it was done away with in the United States.  In many ways what has resulted are forms of reverse racism and polarization between the races.  Also, because of the method of arguement used and supported, it furthered the growing culture of entitlement in this country that has become entrenched ever since.  While it is not in keeping with God's Truth to distinguish based on prejudice, that on the other hand is not a guarentee against such existing.  God did not say we have a "right" not to face suffering.  That suffering may be due to others' sin, but it is still ours to face with both eyes on God.

Another point worth noting is that since the various anti-discrimination movements have gone on, its become unkosher to even speak academically about genuine differences between genders, races, and ethnic groups.  Certainly most of the racist bigotry was founded in fear and misunderstanding but certainly it is also not unfair to say that each person has his/her own traits, strengths/weaknesses, and that can be applied on occasion to talk generally about any common group.  Generalizations are of course dangerous, especially if misused, but they are useful in some aspects of research.  I think most recently of the man who was thrown out of an ivy-league school here (I can't remember the exact school or position, but he was dean or chancellor, some high rank) because his research revealed that women were not as naturally inclined or equipped as men to handle mathematical, scientific, and related technical study.
