For the last 5-7 years, people (on the internet) have thought that I'm about 40-50ish.  I wonder why that is...

Marty,

You're not old. Its not a big deal. I used to think it was a big deal when people would stop carding me when I bought booze. Maybe you feel old because it seems youth nowadays is acting older than their age. I wouldn't let those little punks make you feel bad.

I was called "Mr. Jones" yesterday by a family friend. It was shocking.

Actually, Marty, until I found your pic and read your profile, I thought you were younger than you are! You have a happy youthfulness that I wish more people my age had...they're all downers around here.

On a similar tone, we were rained out one fourth of July and couldn't blow off our fireworks as usual, so we did it the following Monday evening when it was clear. Jason and I and all my brothers and sisters were having an awesome time when out grumps a man from a few houses down from my parents and starts going off about how his 6 month old is sleeping and could we knock it off, yadda yadda... We were FURIOUS! Among my syblings and I, he was called nasty names and impressions were done....but after Sean was born, someone pulled into our apartment complex with their truck stereo BLASTING!! Guess who was yelling out the window and debating on calling the cops that time? It comes for us all, I guess..... (Although honestly, I've never had any amount of fireworks wake up or keep up either of our kiddos..) :p

Totally off topic, but apropos, several years ago the 4th of July was on Saturday. I went to the Vigil Mass at the Cathedral across the street from my house. My oldest son, planning on going in the morning, was shooting off fire works. As I was talking to the assistant pastor, Zach ran across the street and told me he didn't have anything left to blow up. What he meant was, he didn't have any old action figures to tie firecrackers to. Father thought he meant he had no firecrackers and said, "I've got a quarter stick of dynamite if you want it"!!! What do you say to a priest who offers your child dynamite? I got my revenge tho'! We waited until Father's bedroom light went out, ran over into the Church parking lot and set it off (before he had time to fall asleep)!
