Does anyone know of a Catholic charity that sponsors children in Africa or Asia? I've always wanted to sponsor one of these children, but the programs depicted in infomercials on television always seem to be affiliated with Protestant churches, and I do not feel right about donating to them. Thanks!

The only one I'm familiar with is this one:

http://www.ccare.net/  (Novus Ordo)

We used to sponsor a little girl in Ukraine through them.

In the novel Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh, Cordelia, a teenaged girl, is so happy to be sponsor of "six black Cordelias".

Thanks, Marisa! Was your experience with this charity positive?
