Well, it would have been better for Judas, let us say, if he died in the womb before being born (hence going to limbus infantium) rather than living though what he did to condemn himself (hence going to Gehenna-i.e.hell). It looks like Christ used the word "born" to me, and I do not think Christ is ignorant of there being life in the womb.

That's a sad story. Even if its not true, it still gives you a reason to contemplate your life.

There have been a few such stories retold before, so the story of this unfortunate soul is plausible.  Anyway, the description of hell and its torments are real.  Maybe we are not given a true and vivid picture but from the acccounts of Sister Lucia on the children of Fatima's vision of Hell, the story fits. Futhermore, human reprobates in hell are further tormented by the devils every single moment of their existence, but the loss of God is their greatest pain.

Perhaps we can say, inversely, what St. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:9, describing Heaven:   But, as it is written: That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that DO NOT love Him.  However, God is Just and Merciful.  He is not capable of willing such punishment:  the reprobate chose his lot and fate.
