I am probably the person who knows the least about tobacco, but here goes anyway. Smile

I suspect that if it is indeed illegal to ship the products you desire to your residence, you can have them shipped to a business and pick them up there.

For example: In Indiana, we can purchase certain fireworks at certain times of the year even though they are illegal at other times of the year. During the legal time frame, if someone desires to purchase a firework that is not normally sold by a certain dealer, then the item can be bought over the Internet and delivered to a dealer address. I just heard about this kind of arrangement last week.

I hope this information proves helpful and you get your private stock.

Dear All,

No problem yet with mail order tobacco here in California.

Maybe this form of prohibition hasn't acutally been enacted as of yet.  At least not everywhere, but if Mrs. Clinton gets in, watch out!

I know it is illegal in some states.  One reputable dealer of fine pipe tobacco from Kansas, of all places, I believe, has been virtually been run out of business, because mail order was a big part of his trade.

I've been buying cigarette tobacco and no problems in WA.  But I think everything has to be sent by US Mail.  I seem to remember UPS and FedEx not shipping certain things; not sure though.

Maybe people are getting confused with cigarettes.  The tax monsters have bullied that out of existence.

That's what's done with firearms.  They have to be shipped to a dealer, and you pick it up.  Most firearms dealers will do that for a small handling fee.

I just recently started smoking a pipe.  I've been smoking an ol' corncob but have just ordered a new Peterson.  Can't wait!  I find that with just a couple of smokes a week I seem to be more relaxed and contemplative.  Besides, my wife actually likes the smell.  You can't beat that!

How about the Sherlock Holms series that Peterson has out, I know that they are expensive, but they are of the best quality, personally the Rathbone is one of the best that I recommend, I can sympathize with you, I know, it really helps one think, and it's just another reason why I like LOTR.

Its just wonderful to fill up a bowl, pour an appropriate beverage light up and watch those clouds of aromatic smoke rise ! You just see so few pipe smokers these days I was wondering....

PS

A former Parochial Vicar in my parish once told me that St. Pius X was a cigar smoker !!!

See I'd start, but I'm too lazy.

Nothing wrong with a good pipe now and then. Given the choice, however, I'll take a Cuban Cohiba cigar -- accompanied by a Rum Punch on a beach in Jamaica. Ah!
