Books on the Trinity

What are some good books by sound Catholic authors who have written on the Trinity and the role of the Holy Spirit.

 

I know that as a Protestant, we both believe in the Triune God head, but I would like to read some more into it from a traditional point of view.

THE BLESSED TRINITY

THE THREE COMPARED: The person in reference to the essence (39), with the relations or properties (40), or to the notional acts (41). The equality and likeness (42) of the persons. Their mission (43).

This does not answer your question but it is an interesting story taken from "The Illustarted Catechism For Little Children".

 

Divine Mystery and Human Intelligence

 

One day Saint Augustine, the Bishop of Hippo, was walking along the sea shore and trying to understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity. All of a sudden, he saw alittle boy taking water out of the sea with a sea shell and pouring it in to a little hole he had dug in the sand. "My child, what are you trying to do with that water?" asked the Saint. "I'm trying to put all the water from the sea in to this hole," answered the child. "But can't you see?" said the Saint. "Your hole is so tiny, it will never be able to hold so much water." The child replied, "It would be easier for me to put the sea in to this little hole than for you to understnd the mystery of the Holy Trinity." And then the child disappeared. It was an Angel that had taken that from to show Saint Augustine that the mystery of the Holy Trinity cannot be understood by the mind of any creature.

It would be better that you discovered the meaning of the natural virtue of obedience and the supernatural virtue of humility, than to die a dissadent protestant with full knowledge of the Trinity.

It would be better that you discovered the meaning of the natural virtue of obedience and the supernatural virtue of humility, than to die a dissident protestant with full knowledge of the Trinity.

 

 

And how am I not being obedient by asking and inquiring about basic doctrines about our Lord and Savior and the Holy counselor?  How am I not being humble?  I am asking questions in order to gain a better understanding on things.
