I am good friends with a lot of people you may possibly know, Roger McCaffrey, founder of Latin Mass Magazine, Fr. Laurent Demets F.S.S.P. Anyway, I got hold of some information through the dean of the pre-theologate here at Ave Maria U., and he said that he knows someone from Inside the Vatican magazine who e-mailed him today that the Motu Proprio will be promulgated Feb. 22nd, the Chair of St. Peter. You can trust my sources because I don't like rumors anymore than you do, but I think this may be ligitimate. Let us pray for it.

FlosCarmeli,
I hope you are correct. Either way we must not let our souls get disturbed. "Sufficient for the day..." says Our Lord.

Well, we can always hope and pray, but I'm not holding my breath. Even credible information can change...i.e., God forbid, the Pope changes his mind.

February 22 is as good as Epiphany, as good as Christmas, as good as Easter, as good as 1988 the way I see it. But, yes, let us hope and pray!!!

Through the intercession of St. Therese, as of this week, and beginning with Lent, the Pittsburgh Latin Mass Community is allowed to have Saturday Masses in addition to our usual Sunday. Deo Gratias!!

St. Therese, please intercede for us before God for the intentions of the Holy Father and the freeing of the Traditional Rite of Mass that nourishes the souls of so many!

I didn't think Ave Maria U was very friendly toward the TLM?

In any event, I'm not holding my breath.

For the first time since rumors began.... I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not holding my breath.  It's been too long coming.  Reminds me of the guys on the street with the end of the world signs.  Their predictions are always wrong.

What if the Roman Rite goes the way of the Roman-Slavonic Rite; 500 years after its cesation from normal use a couple of monasteries only kept that rite of St.Cyril and Methodius. Perhaps this sets a precedent for the traditional Roman Rite? Perhaps we shouldn't hope for the best and only expect the worse. Maybe traditionalism in matters liturgical is so passe and the "charismatic" trends are not trends but authentic apostolic way of liturgical life. Why do we laypeople even try to speak in anyway in this matter? The Pope and bishops are the ones who matter in this affair.

Things are changing here at Ave Maria... in a big way.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. The document will not be promulgated on Feb. 22.
