Doesn't the SSPX put out a DVD to help priests learn the TLM through Angelus Press? There is at least one priest at my college I know would love to say the TLM. I plan to offer to serve for him as I know the responses well. But there are plenty of priests who would be interested, especially the younger ones and the older ones. I know my one friend at the seminary would probably be interested; not in doing it exclusively, but probably occassionally. the Motu Proprio will open the doors for a widespread sprinkling of many occasional masses in addition to regularly scheduled Tridentine Indults. I could see the Weekly Indults becoming daily indults, the Bi-weekly indults becoming weekly indults... even the monthly and bi-monthly indults becoming weekly indults the disperse sprinkling of random diocesan priests who choose to do private masses empowered by this motu proprio will increase exponentially the graces on the traditional movement and regular public masses will start popping up everywhere... if it is true that the motu proprio will insist indults be granted to any group of 30 or more these private masses will start snowballing into groups that cannot be denied for a public mass.

Yes, Angelus Press does offer such a DVD. And I think if the permission is granted, the priests will come. The SSPX (and also FSSP) will certainly assist in helping get interested priests up to speed. And once the TLM is more available, I think "the snowball effect" will begin, and it will become more widespread. Hopefully, a radical freeing of the TLM will bring the SSPX into a regular canonical situation, and they can help promote sound catechetics in the perennial Catholic Faith. Sadly, the irregularity of their current situation is, justifiably or not, a stigma in the eyes of many Catholics that makes them distrustful of the Society. We need all the holy priests we can get!

As if the SSPX priests know nothing of faithfulness or suffering- or the Mass. You're reading a lot into what I wrote.

Wasn't there a report from the Angelus (or was it The Remnant?) about several hundred priests in Europe have asked the SSPX to be trained in the TLM in anticipation of the mptu proprio. The SSPX apparently has sent out some 1,000 DVDs to these European clergy and the response was positive.

Although important, it's not merely learning Latin and the rubrics... there's the whole Theology behind the Mass that needs to be learned as well; hence the 10-12 priests from various dioceses in the U.S. who are studying in Winona now. There's "this" from the Districe Office in the States... http://www.sspx.org/for_the_clergy.htm I wouldn't be surprised to learn the SSPX have similar things for the clergy in other parts of the world.

Father Gonzales from the Retreat House in Ridgefield, CT, back when he was offering Mass in Virginia Beach, VA, mentioned that the prayers for priest must have been working because he was helping in training several diocesan priests learn the TLM. Let us continue to pray for priests and vocations.

I would sponsor the cost of sending one to each priest in this diocese. Does anyone know how I get a copy of them.

I am grateful to all the replies after I asked about training priests to say the TLM. Living out here in Mahony-land it is easy to become disillusioned. Fortunately, I have my monthly indult TLM to look forward to this Sunday.

Fortunately, I have my monthly indult TLM to look forward to this Sunday. If you live near Arcadia, there's the SSPX (Our Lady of the Angels). The TLM in Mahony-land is almost everywhere now, and as not thrown in great distances as those "allowed" by Cdl Mahony. Near downtown L.A., just a stone throw from that monstrosity known as Roj Mahal is the Armenian Catholic Rite, very much the same as the TLM though said in Armenian (of course) and is a (to my observation) mixture of the Byzantine and the Dominican rites.

It is February 22... and at the time I'm typing this, it is fast approaching 7:00 p.m. in Rome. Any word from your sources, FlosCarmeli?
