Are you serious? Satan doesn't bother with petty stuff -- to get even one soul in hell? He's tried hard to make it known he doesn't exist, and he's succeeded. Those who say Satan has nothing to do with anything to get souls into hell has fallen for his ruse.
But it is also taught by the Church and great Saints that satan and demonic forces are NOT behind every sin individually. Although they certainly tempt a great deal, once he got the ball rolling at the Fall...he doesn't need to be the direct agent of every sin. Some sins are simply inherent in the other enemies of the fallen flesh and the fallen world.
Satan is not God remember, nor the evil equivalent of God (no such thing). God is the final cause of every good act. But demons do not need to be the final cause of every evil act.
God will go to great lengths to save one soul. But satan, though cunning and tireless, is just a bit more lazy. Satan will work to damn a soul, but only inasmuch as he doesn't risk losing others to Good. Christ will leave the 99 sheep to save the one. Satan is more about quantity, and is less likely to risk 99 damnations to cause 1.
I doubt satan or any demons inspired this act directly. It sounds like it arose from the world or the flesh, and so only from satan indirectly. Demons are doing much more insidious things, and much more subtle. This accomplished nothing, and there would have been plenty of easier sins to tempt the perpetrators into.
