I agree that it's totally off the wall. That being said, a Latin American friend of mine said that this type of Eucharistic Adoration is somewhat normal in Brazil and the West Indies, especially in those places where dancing was a major part of native American and African religion. It's strange to say, but it appears that actually, there is a very strong belief in the Real Presence, since as wacky as the dancing is, the monstrance with the Host is still the central focus of the video at all times. I was reminded of the description of David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant. Also, while I don't condone this by any means, the way that the people reach out to touch the monstrance in the end of the video is a very strong indication of belief in the Real Presence. It reminds me of movies about Christ where the crowds always reach out their hands to get even a fleeting touch of His garments. I have a hard time imagining any of this happening in a liberal Catholic parish in the U.S.

In retrospect, I think some closer examination is involved here.

I could not make myself watch it more than a few seconds...

I know them. They are called Shalom and they are a very charismatic group. They are Brazilian, but they are now spread all over. They even have a house in Jerusalem, I think.

As for their believe in the Real Presence, as far as I know, they do strongly believe in it.

Completely outrageous and sacriligious!

Reminds me of when Jesus was mocked by the centurians during His passion because I know Jesus can not be enjoying this but suffering at such a spectacle before Him. Poor Jesus.

Exactly.  Liturgical dance makes the baby Jesus cry.
