During his visit to Our Lady of Aparecida, ( 9-13 May 2007) the Pope will be spending a night at the Latin American branch of the Institute of the Good Shepherd, which he himself founded, which is located in San Paulo in Brazil. He may very well offer the Tridentine Mass during his stay.

The seminary the Pope is staying at is not traditionalist; the French article stated it was called Good Shephard; the name is Good Jesus (Bom Jesus).  Sorry for the misinformation.

I am unsure as to the reason for excitement, and where the stupidity of the friend comes into the picture.  Please clarify.

Well I just called him stupid because I was frustrated and felt stupid myself for posting it.

I was excited because if the Pope stayed at a Traditional seminary I couldn't imagine him offering the Novus Ordo there.... he would most likely offer the Traditional Latin Mass.

He won´t. I am from Brazil and our country knows by heart his itinerary. He´ll go to the city of São Paulo (the capital of the state of São Paulo). Then he´ll go to Aparecida (a city in the country of the same state). Campos is in Rio de Janeiro (another state). There´s no chance he´ll visit Campos. It´s really far from São Paulo and Aparecida. In São Paulo, he´ll stay with the benedictine monks (Gregorian chant, but NO). In Aparecida, he´ll stay in a seminary. But it has nothing to do with the Institute Good Shepherd (the traditional institute). It´s just called Good Shepherd, that´s all. His Holiness will also visit a small farm in a nearby city (from Aparecida) where a German born priest works with drug and alcohol dependents called "Fazenda da Esperança" or something similar, I don´t recall.
If you need anything on the Popes´s trip, fell free to ask me. I am on strict bedrest. I will be more than happy to have something to do .... besides praying and suffering, of course!

He is V2 through and through - do not forget it.

You're a tough nut to crack OLRansom !

Maria, I do hope it is not as serious as it sounds.

Sorry! I just found the post on bedrest due to your pregnancy.  I must have missed it while I was away.

God bless and prayers to St. Anne and Gerard Majella for you.
