Having regular adjustments from a GOOD chiropractor has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. I found that out after my 2nd pregnancy where I could barely walk by month 9 because of how badly my pubic bones would grind. Sleep with a pillow (or two) between your knees.. enough to make your hips squared with the rest of your body.  Also, there is an exercise that I have done to help condition the hips/pelvis.. take a ball (like a kids ball) about 12 inches in diameter, and lay on your back, knees bent. Place the ball between the knees and squeeze and hold for a count of 5. Do this a few times a day.

Congratulations, johanna!

I cannot reccomend doing a pre-natal yoga video enough! It keeps you strong and stretched. The best one out there at the moment is Shiva Rea's pre-natal yoga video. She has three different models doing the stretches in three different ways...one for each trimester! My cousin loved it and said it helped her to stay limber and warded off alot of back pain.

I've been doing Shiva Rea's Postnatal yoga and I really like it. The problem I find with most pre and post natal videos is that they do more talking and less exercising.  It drives me batty.  I don't want to hear for the umpteenth time that "my body is undergoing a tremendous change right now."  DUH!  Shut up and just tell me how to do the exercises!!!  The music bugs me too.  I am having a child, but I have not turned INTO a child.  Grrrrrr....

If swimming is so good, I bet water aerobics would work too.  I've been doing them for a couple of months and it's gotten me very fit, compared to my former self .

You have to get a pair of shoes designed for water walking, ones that slip on and stay fit well.  Regular tennis shoes tend to slip off but they'll work.

You can do karate style kicks, swing your arms in the water, jog lightly, or walk fast as you can.  I mostly just do moves from some of my favorite aerobics tapes, like TAE BO and Denise Austin, just in the water.  When I do the kicks I make an effort to bring my legs up and down as fast as they would go if I were doing them in the air.  You can really feel these exercises in the abdomen, but they're still very gentle.  You might want to ask your MD about this for pregnancy, but I love my water aerobics!

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.– Buddha

Note: According to this precept, I find that Buddhism is NOT true.  I have tested and judged many things, and the only Truth I have found is in God's One True Church: The Catholic Church.

Dear Lord, I know I can live by Your Holy Will every moment of my life, because You have given me faith that Your Grace will enable me to.
