I chose Gerard Majella - my guardian angel knew that I would  need lots of help from him later on in life ! Tip o' the hat

At present one of our girls is preparing for confirmation and she yoyo's between St. Therese the Little Flower and Mary.  I think she will finally settle on Mary but i need to direct her to one particular devotion to adhere to.  Mary Help of Christians, being Australia's special patron, may be it.

Francis of Assisi (yeah, the masculine spelling) - I guess mostly because I was an animal lover!

St Philomena.  I include a prayer to her in my morning prayers.

If you think it's the end of the world, you're not the first.  But hey, eventually someone will be right.

St. Anthony of Padua. He's helped me through many difficult times. He is the 2nd of my two patron saints; the first being, of course, St. Michael the Archangel.

I don't recall mine
I keep thinking it may have been St Helena, Constantine's mother.

But whoever it was, my favs are St. Michael, St. Joan of Arc
St. Joseph Cupertino and St Jerome (on whose feast day we were married, and he is the Patron saint of my profession)

Gee, what a lovely combination of militarism and intellectualism.

Ironically, I am a librarian married to a Martial Arts instructor.

Believe it or not, mine is "Scott" - not a saint's name, but after a childhood friend who died in a motorcycle accident just before confirmation.  The pastor said that was OK - but looking back now, I'm sure he would have said the same about "Moonbeam"!

The "pastoral associate" who administered the RCIA at the end of which my (convert) wife was confirmed actually told my wife that "oh, we don't do that anymore!" when asked about confirmation names.  Then, we received a phone call the afternoon of Holy Saturday..."Quick - pick a saint for tonight!".
