Excellent photo.
As a fellow hat-wearer, let me ask you if you've had these situations.
1) Someone asking you, "Gee why don't people wear hats anymore?". I usually ask them, "Well, why don't you wear a hat?". After they reply, I say, "Then I guess that's why people don't wear a hat anymore!". I GET THIS ONE ALL THE TIME.
Actually, around here, most men seem to have baseball caps surgically attatched to their heads. I honestly wonder if they take them off even in bed.
2) Endless litany of Indiana Jones references.
I point out their utter ignorance: Dr. Jones wears a Panama hat, not a fedora.
3) Same as # 2 for Inspector Gagdet.
I've had that one, and more commonly, references to McGruff, the crime dog.
4) People being rude, to your face, about how out of fashion hats are. I just don't understand this one....people see a 16-year old girl with a blue mohawk and enough face piercings to set off a metal detector from 3 miles away, and they say "it's self-expression"...they see a 40-year-old white man with a grey felt hat, and they say "are you retarded?".
Yes, but I tend to take the insults of idiots as a sign I'm doing something
right.
