Where does the shiny, black oblisk come into play?

I believe that would be after the opening of the "pod bay doors."  : )

Not to mention a falsetto.

"Get on your bikes and ride!" - Freddie Mercury

We're doing Zoroastrianism now in my Advanced Placement World History class.  The text makes it sound like a wonderful 'link arms and sing kumbayah' religion that was the key influence for Judaism, Christianity and Islam because the Jews' exile there.  Doesn't address the issue of why the Jews were in Persia to begin with.  Cyrus, son Cambyses and kinsman Darius were (evidently) only nominally involved with the group, founded by Zarathustra somewhere between  the late 7th and early 6th centuries.  The text claims he's certainly an historical figure but they have no hard evidence except his hymns (gathas) and his adherents in later years.

These texts will bend over backwards to embrace all manner of pagan cults.

Oh by the way - the AP text written by a Mr. Spodek uses Elaine Pagels and Dominic Crosson as their main sources for the unit on Christianity.   I think Hitler and Stalin are sources for WWII ...

I vote for this submission as top Comedic statement, cynical category, for the month of October.

Zoroastrinism doesn't predate Judaism, some historians have suggested that zoroaster was influenced by Judaism and hence the magi who brought gifts to Jesus knew who He was because of this.

Even Christianity predates Judaism by about 70 years.
