I just love how Modernists (and some of their quasi-Traditional fellow travelers) always refer back to the "early church" when they want to justify some doctrinal or liturgical innovation (i.e., Communion in the hand, Communion under both species, etc.). They conveniently overlook nearly 2,000 years of truth revealed through Catholic tradition. To these folks, it's better to celebrate Mass on a flat rock in some underground catacomb than in a glorious Baroque cathedral! This nonsense about lay people celebrating Mass is another example of the mindset.

Look on the bright side with enough ferns and grow lights, at least the cave would be "carbon neutral."
