Hi, Peter.  Are you the fellow from Dunedin who had a Hindu girlfriend and was attending Orthodox Vespers on Saturdays?

No, that was Scott. And according to a recent post on another (eastern orthodox) forum, he is now a Moslem. Please pray for him.

cripes, he sounds like a confused fella! And if he turned MOSLEM,  he REALLY needs our prayers!

Kept an eye on fisheaters and have seen a decline in Traditional Catholicism. Instead neo-cons are taking over fisheaters and that is not cool, because fisheaters helped me on the way to Tradition and it still can help others.

Welcome back, though I am here for only 16 months so you were probably here before me.  I accept the written teachings of Vatican II and am highly suspicious of any manifestation of its "spirit", and I go only to the Extraordinary Form of the Mass unless the only way to fulfil my Sunday duty is to attend the Ordinary Form.  So am I a neo-con or a Traditionalist?  (This is a genuine question, not an attempt to score points.)

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the hour of conflict.  Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do though, O prince of the Heavenly host, thrust Satan down to hell and with him all the wicked spirits that wander through the world for the ruin of souls.

Hi I am Peter from New Zealand. I use to be a member of fisheaters, but thought I had had enough of posting on the net. Kept an eye on fisheaters and have seen a decline in Traditional Catholicism. Instead neo-cons are taking over fisheaters and that is not cool, because fisheaters helped me on the way to Tradition and it still can help others. So I am back and ready to debate, but admit I do not know everything

Welcome Peter. Yes I have noticed a definite difference on the boards in the last year.

Michael, for a good exposition on the difference between neo-conservatism and traditionalism check out this article by Fr. Ripperger.

Thank you all. I am actually on my way to Holy Cross Seminary in Goulburn Australia SSPX. Bishop Fellay is going to be there for a week. Very exciting. I hope the 'excommunications are lifted soon. Will post again to let everyone know how it went for those interested on the 6/01/08. Will not have net until then. Everyone at fisheaters have a Merry Christmas.

On a positive note, converts who disliked protestantism, tend to strongly prefer the traditional latin mass. Such as myself

Wow the Seminary in Goulburn was fantastic. Is there any one on fish eaters that is from there or was at the ordination of Rev Claret? Bishop Falley was great. It is like being in the presence of a King to be honest. I got him to bless a crucifix and he said "I have not quite worked out how to do it properly yet" or words to that affect lol, broke the tension of my nerves. Fr Scott was very generous and so were all the seminarians. Found out the Priesthood is not for me, but was still a great experience. For any traditional Catholics in Australia I recommend attending the Ordinations each December 27th of each year if you are not already.

I am sure plenty here have done ignation retreats? It is so good, especially after the general confession. If you have not done one yet it is a must. Great experience.

Wecome back, PeterM!  I'm noticing a bit of a drift in the neo-con direction, which is rather curious, cosidering Pope Benedict's fondness for Tradition.  (Was that the right way to put that?)  I hope to see you defending Tradition on this site.  (In a gentlemanly manner, of course!)

Michael M, you may be a Trad, or a neo-con, but if you're a real Catholic I suppose that's all that matters.  So, you're in Ireland.  Are you a native boy?  My oldest son and his wife were there in Sept visiting cousins, aunties and uncles.  They went to the SSPX chapels in Dublin and elsewhere.  They tell me the SSPX has a huge following in Ireland, with lots of activities, pilgrimages, picnics, etc.  I'm jealous.  Out here in the Pacific NW US (Portland, OR) we have Mass a couple of times a week (Deo gratias!) but very little else to interrupt a seemingly long work week.  I guess I should try to start some activity or other.
