Moreover, from the link provided, Fr. Eshiowu spoke on: "Tradition & Faith in Nigeria Today."

A topic which, to me, doesn't seem to hinge on Baptism of Desire or of Blood.

nicollette,

Just out of curiosity why did you even ask this question to begin with?  Does it make a difference if a priest is sympathetic to Fr. Feeney's views?

Only to hangmen like HMiS. But fortunately none of them have ropes, so he's ok.

Those who follow Fr. Feeney's views (which changed all over the course of time, e.g. On the Rooftops from 1956 still admitted baptism of desire and baptism of blood for catechumen Saints from the Roman martyrology) put some clerical person's weird theological opinions (errors) before the sane sensus communis of Catholic theologians of all ages, and before the defined and de fide (dogmatic) definition of the Council of Trent ("or the desire for it").

That is a huge problem. It seems minor, but the pattern is the same as with the priests in the modernistic structures alleging that every Buddhists goes to heaven even if he knows Christ or could have known Him, and that hell is "there, but it's empty" (Urs von Balthasar). The same huge pattern which leads to heresy and even apostasy.

I do not care about persons and authorities, but about the Holy Church. Not about Cardinal McCarrick's "homosexuality" or Pope Alexander VI's mistresses and fornication details or sexual positions, I care about Catholic orthodoxy and right norms (disciplines). This is what matters. Alexander VI lived "like beasts do", but he never touched the Faith.

May God protect the dear fatherland. Go on working for him... oh, you dear Savior!") - Clemens August Cardinal von Galen, his last words.
