Did you know that today is Buddah's birthday?

My friend asked me to accompany him to temple to celebrate.... As I have invited him several times to Mass, I went along to see what goes on there.
I was in for a treat, as it seems that modernism and the pop-world has not even spared Buddah....

The event included blarring techno music.... stalls of souvenir trinkets, pop dancers and people in shorts and tank tops....

Just because this is relevant to Buddhism, I, on my google searching, found this book written by a Buddhist convert to Catholicism.

The real "Buddha" probably wasn't fat.

It is a symbol of happiness, luck, and generosity.

Okay... well, happy birthday, Buddha...

Isn't this a Catholic forum?

The OP's point was that Buddhism has been infected with modernism too. My birthday greeting was an attempt to be positive...though some would see that as "modernist."
