I suffer from this as well, though thanks to praying my Rosary, I've been granted such wonderful grace to find the worst of the impulses are gone.

I will pray for you as well.  I would look up the prayer devotions suggested to you as ways to help combat these temptations.

Don't forget daily Mass (Tridentine only!) and a DEEP DIVINE LOVE for This HOLY SACRIFICE of our Lord JESUS CHRUST.

O God, have mercy on me a sinner.

I too have failings in this department. Please pray for me and I shall surely be doing the same for all of you. This is such a prominent sin today; so many of us are converting in our late teens or early twenties when such habits have already taken hold, never mind the fact that the world is not particularly more helpful in fighting these vices today than it was yesterday.

Still struggling with it myself. Brother, you are not alone in this.

We will keep you in our prayers on this, as we ask you to do the same for us.

Many, many thanks!

Praying for you.

I see a lot of people stuggle with this.  It's not enough to just kick the habit, you have to fill the void as well.  Keep in mind the following (taken from Chapter 11 of the Luke's Gospel):

24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through places without water, seeking rest; and not finding, he saith: I will return into my house whence I came out. 25 And when he is come, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26 Then he goeth and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and entering in they dwell there. And the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.

That's why people make suggestions other than just praying, such as running etc.  Also, remember the Gospel of Mark, chapter 9:

27 And when he was come into the house, his disciples secretly asked him: Why could not we cast him out? 28 And he said to them: This kind can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

God bless us all.  St. Joseph, pray for us.

I will pray for you also, and please pray for me as well.  I find being engaged so difficult in this respect.  The three Hail Mary's devotion has always helped me, but alas, I have neglected it lately.  I embellished the prayer a little bit, and found this version most helpful for the kind of relief that you are seeking, a picture of a crucifix next to my alarm clock proved most helpful as well.

The three Hail Mary devotion(paraphrased a bit as I tend to embelish to personalize prayers):

Holy Mary, Mother of God, in honour of the Glorious Power granted to you through God the Father Almighty.  I consecrate to you my mind and all it's faculties.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.   Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, now and at the hour of our death.

Holy Mary, Blessed Virgin, in honour of the Great Wisdom granted to you through God the Son.  I consecrate to you my body and all it's sensations.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.   Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, now and at the hour of our death.

Holy Mary, Merciful Mediatrix, in honour of the Merciful Tenderness granted to you through God the Holy Ghost.  I consecrate to you my heart and all it's joys and sorrows.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.   Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, now and at the hour of our death.

Holy Mary, Virgin most powerful, wise, and merciful, preserve me from mortal sin this day/night.

This prayer is to be said in the morning, and before bed.

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.– Buddha

Note: According to this precept, I find that Buddhism is NOT true.  I have tested and judged many things, and the only Truth I have found is in God's One True Church: The Catholic Church.

Dear Lord, I know I can live by Your Holy Will every moment of my life, because You have given me faith that Your Grace will enable me to.

This is so pandemic, perhaps this thread should be pinned like some of the others in the Oratory...
