I have heard somewhere, I dont remember exactaly where, that if you pray for someone who is in hell, the prayers only serve to torment them.

You've said this before, and I would like a cite. I have always been taught that if one prays unknowingly for a damned soul, God will use the prayer to the benefit of a deserving soul.

Good riddance!!

Agreed.  Good riddance.

It's not rude.  It's not judging.  It's not even speaking ill of the dead.

It's stating a fact.

Please explain to me how a person expressing the words "Good riddance!!" after a man's death is a fact.  I fail to see how this is an indisputable 'fact.'

This post was an expression of an individual's feelings.  Hardly compatible with the definition of 'fact'.

Let me ask all you people something. Why is Carlin's death more important than that of a poor cleaning lady, or a bus driver, who also probably somewhere in the world died today?

He mocked God. He died. He called God that invisible little man in the sky, who had 10 rules you had to obey, and if you broke 1 of them, you would be tortured until the end of the world. (his words) And then said " This is a God that loves you"?

Personally, my prayers go to the bus driver and the cleaning lady.

Carlin, I believe, was a big fan of the bus driver and cleaning lady.  I'm sure he would ask that any merits of his go to these people, so we should probably pray for him.

When I am not quite sure of something, ie; prayer intentions, I give them to God and say "do with them what You will".

It is good to be rid of him.

That's not a fact at all, merely your opinion.  George Carlin had a real talent as a comedian and social commentator.  Granted, he was wrong about quite a few times, but the times he was right made sitting through the stuff he was wrong about entirely worthwhile.

George Carlin had a real talent....

I'm not so sure about that. In my opinion, he wasn't any better at ridiculing God/Catholicism than all the other Atheist "comedians".
