Okay, time to dissect Palin's speech tonight at the RNC. Opinions? IMO, I think she did a great job as an "opening salvo", so to speak. She was direct, engaging, and her delivery was on spot.  It's going to be very interesting to see her debate with Biden.

I thought that one of the best aspects of her speech was how she emphasized how much she and "common Americans" were alike. Her parents were "regular folk"; she's been married to her high school sweeetheart for 20 years; her son and nephew (? think it was a nephew) are serving in the military; her husband's a union member, etc.

I think a lot of people identify with her in a "she's one of us" kind of way.

Me, too. But they've been losing me ever since.

I'm wondering, is it too late to reverse this ticket?

No, it's not, and I think this fiery RNC we've had so far is going to make McCain jump enough points to make obama crap his pants.

I also think Palin is going to steamroll Biden. I've known more than a few "hockey moms" from my youth and they are all nuts.

Palin's speech wanted to make me vomit.  Just hot air from another worthless politician.  Our country will continue to go down the gutter.

Ditto. Cute daughters though.

I did like it when she made fun of Obama's greek temple set at the DNC

I quite enjoyed it. It was blunt, engaging and simple.

More than anything, I think it served to show the radical distinction between Palin as a modest, humble woman with a normal and healthy family life (despite the teen pregnancy which was resolved in the best way it could have been)  ... versus the circus of the Obama camp with his pseudo-messianic overtones and the pompous rhetoric of a radical prima-donna elitist.

God bless,

Exactly.  I saw some excerpts, and that broad has a really whiny voice and came off as super annoying.
