Hello everybody,

Choose Life, the new pro-life club at my school, was officially approved Tuesday night (after two hours of debate) as a club with interim status, which means that we have three months to hold three events and demonstrate that we are fulfilling our mandate. Please keep us in your prayers, as there is some strong opposition from the left student groups. Please pray especially that all of our club members, especially on the exec, remain prayerful and submissive to God, that His will be done with the group, and that we trust in Him rather than ourselves.

Thank you!

Prayers for your club, for Quebec and for Canada that the abomination of 'legal' abortion be overturned.

I used to be the president of my college's Right to Life group, so I know how that goes.  Though a Catholic campus, we were easily the most hated club on campus.

You can be assured of my prayers.  Remember that you are blessed when persecuted for righteousness' sake.

Why the two hours of debate?  And is the "three events in three months" rule usual procedure?  A pro-life group is a fairly standard political club in my experience, even on secular campuses.

I can appreciate being the hated group on campus.  I was president for two years of our pro-life club.  It was mostly a sacrifice but hopefully God used us.  If you need event ideas, by all means PM me!

Howdy!

Yes, the interim status and all that it entails is routine for new clubs on campus. The debate lasted two hours because, I guess, that many people wanted to speak! A link in the school newspaper can be read (http://www.mcgilldaily.com/article/5529-ssmu-approves-pro-life-club; I am not mentioned, as I did not attend the meeting). Thank you for the prayers and offers for help! I may follow you up on it!
