I was sent this link/clip about the amero.

I would not be at all surprised to find it a joke, however I have heard of the Amero before.
Has this topic ever come up in this forum?

To Modern Catholics:
We are what you once were.
We believe what you once believed.
We worship as you once worshipped.
If we are wrong now, you were wrong then.
If you were right then, we are right now.

Seems to go hand in hand with what is being said in this article:

I had done some research on this earlier and discovered a few things. First, I did not know this beforehand, but Hal Turner is a white supremecist. Also, there is a coin curator and designer who apparently created an 'Amero' for novelty and collector purposes. This is allegedly the coin that Hal Turner has. Hal Turner alleges the small coin company was created as a front to cover up the truth.

Personally I think the Amero is still a possibility, but after discovering the truth on it's prime messenger, that he is a white supremecist, it has given me pause.

There is a looming economic crisis that could in fact completely bottom out the dollar which could force us into another currency. I find that plausible. But careful with Hal Turner.

Here is his blog, and his Wiki.

I almost started to fall for some of the conspiracies being floated by Alex Jones. He can be very compelling as well. He says the US is heading for martial law and believes heavily in all the uber elite secret societies that are actually working to usher in the new world order. He has very compelling videos. Recently he had as a guest on his show Chuck Norris, although they didn't go into the conspiracies so much. He also has a video with Jesse Ventura and Willie Nelson and they discuss the economic crisis and how we got here. It's also fairly compelling. But then I find out he is a truther, that 9/11 was an inside job. Then I find this video of Alex just ripping into Michelle Malkin at a protest in Denver. Then I thought, wow, this guy is a kook!

But also, whenever I'm research these guys, I do feel like I'm in an unreality, and then when I listen to Rush, or Medved or whomever, I feel like I'm back in reality.

I think there is real trouble on the horizon for us in the US, but it shouldn't change anything for me as a Catholic. What will be will be.
