Noel if you are the son as you say. then understand no one here is happy or celebrating that you lost a father. But our holy religion has rules. And those rules must be followed. Your father through his abominable behavior being a fa.... to be charitable due to your loss, a homosexual and non repentant, put himself out side the church. If you believe and are glad that the holy catholic religion is dying then why oh why did you give your father who must of left your mother for another man a funeral in our holy religion? I hope your father in his last moments repented. But what I cannot condone is him having a family and then turning homosexual. This was a horrible sin and a crime against you and your other siblings and especially your mother. How dare he! but he is gone and will reap the reward deserved. May you remember him fondly but also pray for his soul lad! pray for him!

Maybe I'm completely wrong in thinking this but perhaps he had a good death, he may have died repenting of his behaviour, even if he was incapable of announcing it or recanting his lifestyle. Somehow, he may need a Requiem Mass more than most.

I agree, and therefore maybe I'm completely wrong in my thinking, too. Since this is not a hypothetical situation for discussion, and since the death happened only a week ago, and since the obit said it was a "sudden" death, and since hurting family members might be watching, I think we should exercise prudence regarding our commentary. We never know what moment of truth occurs at the hour of death. Let's keep deceased in our prayers as well as the family, and the pastor, and anyone scandalized by the funeral.

[Asshole comment deleted by Quis - looking to get banned, voxpopulisuxx?]

apologies to the group but when someone says that they are glad My Holy Mother Church is "dying a slow painful death, I get uppity, but quis is right.....forgive me...

ps why is it i can rarely get you or vox to comment positively on my threads? I always get your attention when Im a jerk( which granted according to many here is all the time)...but not when Id like to hear from you? I have had many threads posted that line up with alot of what you have posted in the past and yet I only get your posts when my adamic @#hole side comes out.
Anyway---sorry again
I have said and will say again that FE helped restore my faith,it is hands down the BEST Apologetics site on the web. I have recommended it to hundreds of fellow catholics and used it in our Church schools. And will continue to do so
peace

Because we don't get to spend as much time on the forum as we would like, and I mostly play policeman or, when possible, engage in an intellectual debate.  I have seen posts from you that I like, for sure.

Generally speaking, no news from me is good news.  Smile

Are you people for real??
A man has died! He was a father, a son, a brother, a partner!
And you, in the name of religion, use hateful language and spew bile towards this man who gave so much of his life to helping others.

You should be ashamed.

What makes you different to the Muslim man who kills his sister for bringing shame onto the family, in the name of religion?  Nothing!

How can you use a religion which supposedly centres on love and respect for fellow human beings as an excuse to spout such shyte?

Yes, he died. The actions of the local Church however are not in line with the Church's goal.

It isn't so much the man who died, and as you can see, we do have hope for the salvation of souls, but the behavior that is condoned by the church's actions.

The Church is not a feel good ego boost, it is the Church of God, to spread and teach the Word of God.

And do you actually think and kind and loving god would reward nasty behaviour like yours?

Think again!
