I have to disagree Lisa. When one begins to eat for pleasure's sake that is gluttony. When one eats and pleasure is a side effect, that is a different case.

I guess I'm a glutton because I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

Take the time to also give food to food pantries (if you are able), and pray. Enjoying food is not a sin, but gluttony is.

Quote from: "Matthew 9:14"

14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying: Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast? 15 And Jesus said to them: Can the children of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast.

Seems to advocate Thanksgiving pretty well, especially if you piously observe Lent and Advent.

Ashamed that traditional Catholics have given in to the "bourgeosie" culture of the Protestant ethic. Hurt to think that those who should be salt for the earth prefer throwing sand in others eyes to Charity and conversion. Veteran ashamed to think my brothers and sisters should pray for the destruction of the nation I served, consumed in hatred. May good priests offer the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass for the restoration of the Church, because I don't know where to find her at all any more. God save us all, and God give us the answers, because it seems no one has them.

It is most obvious in the thread on religious freedom.

I haven't seen that thread, but I'd imagine discussions on "religious freedom" by people of the same religion would result in some possibly harsh attitudes.

You would be correct LaRoza, and I'm sorry if anyone finds my attitude towards other religions harsh.

I always am. I don't know your attitudes towards other religions and I didn't see that thread (probably won't, because I didn't come here to discuss other religions). We wouldn't be Catholics if we didn't believe it is the true faith, and that requires believing others are wrong or not totally correct.
