At this time of the holidays please keep in your prayers all those who a depressed this time of year.

In December much of the world is naturally the at darkest time it will be all year. This tends of screw with peoples emotions and can make them very much "blue."

Anniversaries of the deaths or injuries of friends and relatives can make for a miserable Christmastime and New Years Eve.

Many people in our "liberated" society find themselves alone and poor raising children, or just plain alone because of divorce, and this too can make for a hard holiday time.

Please keep these and all other individuals who are hurting this time of year in your prayers.

N.B.: I will not be posting on this site again until the Christmas octave. Have a good Advent.

So very true and a worthy cause for which to pray.

Just yesterday someone (a very close relative, keeping it vague though) was saying how depressed she was (father died, money is tight, work is hectic, her children are in possibly weird situations) and she can't wait for it to be over.

You are so right, and it is good of you to post this reminder.

Remember also that in such situations Our Lord expects us to do more than pray. When people are alone and sad, we have a responsibility to do what we can to ease their situation.
