The first entry suggested that the universe was 150 billion light years across in a 13.5 billion year old universe.  How did it expand that fast from a single point (big bang) without stuff going 6 times the speed of light?

Which according to the scientific establishment is impossible.

Huh?

Please rephrase that in college speak so I can pass it on to a few of my peeps.

The speed of light is an upper bound for the speed light can travel within spacetime. The rate of expansion of the universe is the rate at which spacetime itself is expanding. For this reason, there is no correlation between the speed of light, the age of the universe, and the size of the universe.

You really believe that Athiest Jew Einstein?

Spacetime....oooohhhh.....What an utter crock.  When scientists invent meaningless words to convince proud academics that to understand how the universe works they need to come up with a new vocabulary which means nothing to a non-devotee, then I tend to think they are talking BS

The big bang happened at a point in space.  If stuff that came from that point is now 150 billion light years apart then it must have travelled 6 times faster than the speed of light in the 13.5 billion years it has been travelling to get that far apart.

But according to E=MC2 that is impossible.  Matter cannot travel faster than the speed of light.

So how did it get 150 billion light years away from other matter in 13.5 billion years?

Or are you suggesting that the vacuum (negation of existence) it travelled through was "moving" at 6 times the speed of light away from that point, in opposite directions.

How can non-existence do anything?

Beliving in God is easy in comparison.

I'm with you Greg. Just listened to the 4 minute tape and it is most interesting.

Be aware however that the STR was a definition and declaration by the then pope of science, Albert Einstein.. Out of their need to get the earth moving again after the 1887 M&M experiment, this dirty old man was given scientific infallibility. He had no physical apparatus to work on or with. They allowed him to sit on the chair of Newton and proclaim his physics. His STR was and ad hoc proclamation, nothing else. Yes, believe it or not, that is all Einstein's STR is, a mental ad hoc.
But this find is real physics. Here your man already talking about another universe or something? That will be where they get another ad hoc to shoot this real physical test down, just as they did with the real physical M&M test of 1887 and thereafter.

So... it's possible to exceed the speed of light?  Or is light faster than we think?  For that matter, who determined that the speed of light can't be surpassed and why?

When you go up to receive communion, you're literally at the foot of the cross.  Standing at all creation's center, the saints gather around.  Martyrs, heroes staring into your very being.  They lived AND died for Christ... can we say the same of ourselves?  What are WE doing to further God's will in this life?  Skipping Mass for our careers?  Our education?  Voting for heads of state, that don't recognize the source of all authority and power?  They won't matter on your deathbed (or whatever end we meet).

So... why waste time with this modern world's nonsense?  We have our own civilization: CHRISTENDOM.  We must restore it whilst the modern world commits societal suicide.

Its naive and idealistic to believe government for man by man can succeed.  Restore Christendom in our hearts and homes!  Communities aren't that far off, its a numbers game.
