Statement from Bishop Williamson Concerning His Health!

In light of the latest rumour speculating that His Lordship Bishop Williamson has cancer, a friend who has known him for more than 15 years e-mailed him and received back a reply in less than half an hour.

In part, it says:

"I am definitely NOT dying, except as we all are, slowly, day by day. Scout's honour!"

He then goes on to say that in the end, however, "God decides."

His comment on the rumour:

"The enemy pull every trick in the book !!!!"

Neither is he going gaga as certain commentators have speculated whilst joining together recent events and this latest rumour. For them, 2+2=5. He has made the only apology that needed to be made: to Cardinal Hoyos and to the Holy Father - both of whom have been thrown to the media lions by the anti-Catholic lobby.

God bless Bp. Williamson, and God bless Benedict XVI! I pray they both someday witness the Beatific Vision.

"The practice of the Church has always been the same, as is shown by the unanimous teaching of the Fathers, who were wont to hold as outside Catholic communion, and alien to the Church, whoever would recede in the least degree from any point of doctrine proposed by her authoritative magisterium" (Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, no.  9, June 29, 1896).

“Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time” (2 Peter 1:10).

Turns out Fr. Z threw up a bunch of unsubstantiated rumor regarding the Bishop's health...

RORATE CÆLI have learned from a source in daily contact with Bishop Williamson the following information:

"His Excellency is alive and well and rumors of a tumor are a lie and a very transparent attempt to draw Bishop Williamson out into the public arena for some sort of comment or interview. Those who care about him will help resist such attempts."

I can't figure out if Fr. Z. is jealous of the SSPX or that he just hates Bishop Williamason.  His title for the letter of Apology is "Bishop Williamson mans up."

Honesly, we know of the two, who is the real man.

And I've thought for a while that Fr. Z by his constant appeal for prayers for Bishop Fellay and sympathy was starkly contrasted with his habit of always referring to bishop Williamson as "Excommunicated bishop Williamson"

Is his posting part of the "transparent attempt"?

It is interesting that Bp. Williamson is gaining cred while Fr. Z seems to be losing it.

Sounds like it was wishful thinking on the part of the person who originally posted that information.

I think "mans up" is meant as a compliment, and a well-deserved one, too.

I think he's misusing the term.  I just looked it up in an "urban dictionary" and it consistantly refers to someone who was "acting like a sissy" and the "manning-up" refers to the person abandoning that behavior.
