Fisheaters is a strange place.

« on: March 05, 2009, 09:59:PM »

I'm doing some college work and I'm getting worried.  All those days of living like dumbass are really catching up.

These two patrons-- the patron of teachers and the patron of students-- have been so good to me in my post baccalaureate work; still I am not out of the woods.

I don't know what to pray for exactly; I've made my own mess and deserve every bit of my own trouble.  But I'm going to have a lot of indiscretions of youth and academia to answer for and it's not going to be easy.

St Gregory and St Thomas, Ora pro Nobis!

edited to be more specific: I'm applying for admittance to the School of Education at the University where I've been taking post-baccalaureate work and I'm going to have to answer for some transcript issues.

Eh, lots of people have bad college records.   If your recent ones look better, you're OK.  5 years in "the real world" no one looks at a GPA anyhow.

But, certainly, prayers never hurt!

It's not exactly like that.  There are some errors on my transcripts that I need to point out.  It's going to really complicate this process.

I think I'm going to let down a lot of people.

I think I'm going to let down a lot of people.

Sounds like the story of my life.

Don't worry things will work out. I remember that there was a huge flack over whether or not I was going to graduate from college.  The whole thing seemed up in the air for a bout a week due to some supposed lack of the necessary credits to graduate.  My mother was so embarrassed since she had told my whole extended family that I was going to graduate,  She even insisted on having my cap and gown pictures taken just in case I made it (you can see me with this incredible forced smile on my face in every photo).

Finally the good news came that their had been a mistake and I had actually graduated on time.  Everything worked out.  God is good.
