"I'm all-in."

« on: March 06, 2009, 04:38:PM »

Many of you probably know I don't do much in regards to "internet anonymity."  The only area I personally find the need to keep private is the matter of vocation.  But a thread originally intended to be a giant "DEO GRATIAS" for a group of Franciscans returning strictly to Tradition kind of turned into a discussion of my pursuing a vocation with said group.

Since the cat is already out of the bag, I thought I'd ask the forum for prayers as I begin the discernment process.  You guys have never let me down before; there's always been a large crowd that have offered prayers on my behalf and the best possible result has always occurred.  So please pray for me as I try to find God's will for this poor sinner.  I struggle with a truckload of sins that still need defeated and could potentially pose a problem to entering the religious life.  The vices need conquering anyway, but I have a new sense of urgency since I'm giving serious thought to becoming a Friar of the Immaculate.

So, pray for this sinner!  God bless you all.

[P.S. -  If I ever do become a priest, you can bet on the fact that I wold offer Masses for my friends on FE as much as possible.  We're a good crew.]

You've hinted at this in previous posts (I'm pretty sure I've surmised that)

Defiently prayers - the Newman Center at the university I work for has two Eucharistic Adoration hours during Lent - and I've been thinking I should make one of them each week, but missed both this week - your post will help motivate me to go, so we're helping each other out!
I've been to three priest's "First Mass" (not always their very first post ordination Mass, but their first Mass back at the home town parish, which often was refered to as their "First Mass" Mass kind of event, with a big reception, and stuff.  One of those was before VII and two after (so, those two were in the Ordinary Form).  Wow, if I were at your "First Mass" (even if just in spirit), it would probable help me be more balanced,  ya know.

So lots of prayers for proper discernment, and read Quis's link.

(Edited to get the "QUOTE" tag in the right place)
