but a shot in the dark here is better than a shot in the dark in real life. :p
All about James.
Sex: Yes, I mean Male.
Age as of posting date: 19.
Patron Saint by Confirmation: I'm unconfirmed (explained below)...I'm feeling a strong pull towards St. Pius Xth right now.
Number of children (e.g. born from: former valid marriage that ended in death of spouse; invalid marriage; rape; past sins, etc. No need to enter details here! Just list number of children you care for): This is a horribly phrased question. No kids.
Location: Poulsbo, WA.
Would you relocate if you met the right person? After I finish with school, absolutely...I also have no problem with long-distance friendships.
EF, SSPX, both, or other? The eternal Mass is the eternal Mass...but my parish is an SSPX one.
Novus Ordo if that's all there is? It would have to be a real parish, not a liberal horror, but yes.
Introvert or extravert? Extravert...I've been described as a "social walrus"...butting into convos, bellowing and waving my flippers...
Keirsey personality type: I dunno, but I've tested "choleric" in like six different tests...one was percentage based and had me at 100%, 0%, 0%, 0$.
Ethnic heritage: I'm not really sure, as a matter of fact...anglo mixture of some sort.
Is meeting someone of like ethnicity very important to you, just a bonus, or unimportant? Um...important I guess. There are exceptions, I suppose.
Is there an ideal age range for the person you'd like to marry? How important is this? Three years, give or take. Fairly important at this point, obviously.
In what manner do you interpret the Church's approval of NFP?One of my bigger areas of self-debate in the way of church teaching, but I don't do contraception.
What would the headship of the husband look like in your idea home? I don't plan on being a significant other who's controlling...spiritual and business leadership of the home are priorities, but I'm not big on compulsion...if I had to tell a girl what to do all the time, I probably shouldn't be with them. :p
How do you feel about women working outside the home? If it didn't interfere with proper child rearing or my ability to have a career, great.
How do you feel about women in pants? Right on.
Of the seven deadly sins (pride, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, anger, envy), which is the most challenging for you? Anger, I guess....the inability to see things from others' point of view and hatred of stupidity.
What would others say are your annoying habits or bothersome attributes? Where to start? ;) Um, I use profanity and smoke occassionally...people don't like that...and I tend to come across as arrogant and selfish....I don't think I am as much as I appear on first impression though.
What are the most important things you desire in a spouse? Sense of humor, a deep connection with god, patience, a great mind and an appreciation for the mind.
Things you absolutely would not tolerate in a potential spouse: Non christian religion, compulsive lying, rabid liberalism, extreme tomboyishness, nagging.
What, if anything, have you learned from past relationships with the opposite sex? Hahaha...too much and not enough. Women are complicated and need to be handled as such.
Political ideals: Very right wing...I seem to shift by the day between libertarian and authoritarian.
Education: about to get an AA from Olympic College, Bremerton.
Employment: dishwasher at a golf/country club...subject to change...the plan is a degree in Political Science and a career in politics or law.
Smoke? hear goes the deal breaker...I smoke socially.
Drink? I have regrettably broken the law a couple of times....a decision I don't plan on making again. In the future? Socially.
Night owl or morning lark? Night Owl X 10000.
How messy or disorganized are you? I guess you could say my THINKING is neat and my lifestyle is disorganized....but not repulsively so.
What makes you laugh? Lots of things...a good joke, irony, my own idiocy, good films.
What are the little things that please or delight you? Sun, a good sporting event, an afternoon with my dudes, irony again..."eureka" moments.
What would you like to be doing in 10 years ideally? If you continue on your present course and don't meet the person of your dreams, what do you think you actually will be doing given your gifts and goals? in ten years? Either working at a law firm or on my way to running for office, or both...(this is ideally.)
Intellectual interests: Reading, Writing, politics, history.
Hobbies: Reading, Writing, sports of every variety (no golf, no nascar), Magic the Gathering (nerdy, I know.)
Talents: [what are you good at? Reading, Writing (pattern much?) , Debate, Ultimate Frisbee, memorization, humor.
Top 5 Favorite books of all time: The Bible (that's not even a cop-out), Atlas Shrugged, Red Storm Rising, Caliphate, anything by Harry Turtledove.
The last 5 books you read (don't lie!)[. Are these books typical of you?: Not counting Scripture, Atlas Shrugged (again), Footfall by Larry Niven, Wicked, We the Living by Rand, Gone for Soldiers by Michael Shaara.
Music you actually listen to most often: Anything is fair game but Country and "smooth Jazz"...Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Modest Mouse and Rage Against the Machine are my favorites. (I have little to no problem with secular music that doesn't degrade women or use excessive profanity...my favorite composer is Bach.)
Favorite movies/TV shows: TV: House, Heroes, Chuck, 24 (those are a devil to watch all of), the Simpsons. Movies: Road to Perdition, the Boondock Saints, V for Vendetta, Matrix, the original Star Wars films.
Favorite foods: Anything Italian, chips, lunch meat, breads.
Serious pet peeves: Cafeteria Catholics, ignorant Prots, hypocrites, socialists, moral relativism, the "courtship" phenomenon sparked by "I kissed dating goodbye", people who force people to share or take what's offered, health nazis, arrogant minority people. (the type who cry "racism" all the time when your beef is just with them.)
Pets you have, pets you desire, pets you'd put up with: Like cats, want a ferret, not a big animal person...("farm life" is a no.)
Idea of a romantic evening: a good film in-house, not theater, deep conversation, late-night walks.
Important notice: I have been Catholic less than a year, and am unbaptized and unconfirmed...I plan to get baptized in Bellingham while going to Western Washington University, which I will start in fall...the reason being that I have protestant parents. This is probably WAY too much baggage at this point, haha...that being said, I know a lot about Catholic theology, and I believe it to the fiber of my being...plus I'm traditional to the core. So yeah. I'll get pictures up shortly.
(BTW, "looking for a spouse" is a rather intimidating title for a young adult such as myself...I'm not looking to get married at 20 or anything. Then again, there may be no one in my age group frequenting these boards.)
