Dear Unknown Friends This is all very new for me. Hardly ever been on an internet forum such as this in my life. No idea yet what "Fish factors" are or many other features here that are strange to me. At 45, I suspect I am older than many here. I am very interested in learning more of the Traditionalist movement, particularly to what extent it is growing and what hope there can be in it helping to save the Church from the disaster engendered by the so-called "Spirit of Vatican II". I will not say much more for now - but will just paste in now four concise sentences I wrote about a new website my wife and I have begun. The sentences say a lot about myself, and major concerns as well: "Civilisation degrades and the environment with it. The world becomes engulfed by materialism or spirituality with no comprehension of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. What is to be done? We are former New Agers and Catholic converts whose answer lies in the defense, conservation and clarification of the Catholic Mystery." The website is at http://www.corjesusacratissimum.orgI look forward to meeting you in cyberspace, brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. Roger

“I am a Catholic not like someone else would be a Baptist or a Methodist, but like someone else would be an atheist.” - Flannery O'Connor
Then again I asked him, "supposing the Pope looked up and saw a cloud and said 'It's going to rain', would that be bound to happen?" "Oh, yes, Father." "But supposing it didn't?" He thought a moment and said, "I suppose it would be sort of raining spiritually, only we were too sinful to see it." Evelyn Waugh, Brideshead Revisited

Hi, we'll be gentle. At 45, I suspect I am older than many here.
There are many here older than that, so you aren't alone

Welcome. I'd be interested in hearing more about your New Age experience and what bearing it has on your faith now, if you choose to share...
Enjoy the fishtank.

Hi, Kim and Roger.......
I think you will find yourself right at home here -
The owners of this website ( and of this forum) are the best - and there are many here who would be able to help you with your questions.
I would really like to read about some of your experiences.
Nice site, by the way!
Welcome to FE.

Welcome, Roger Buck! I'm glad you didn't resist the grace and have come home to the Church. Praise God I hope this forum turns out to be a cozy place for you. No need to be shy even though you're not used to hanging about in forums. Just be who you are... (BTW, the "fish factor" thing is a way for people to vote for a post -- or a poster -- positively or negatively. If you see a post you like, just click the "Fresh" button. Or if you don't like it, click the "Stinkin'" button. It's a feature we're not sure we're gonna keep, but it's been sort of interesting so far -- and it's a way of letting passers-by know that, for ex., if someone posts something completely ridiculous, it's not necessarily a "traditional Catholic way of thinking," but just one person's opinion.) At 45, I suspect I am older than many here.
Eh, yer a pup!

Welcome, Roger! I'm 40 btw and Vox is, er, in our range... ;)
Anyhow, I agree with your sentiment as posted. The wonder, the mystery, the beauty of the faith has been lost to "banal fabrications". These are the experiential and mind-soul nexus losses that compound and further cause the loss of the spiritual graces.
I'm sure we'll have many interesting discussion about that.

Roger Buck,
Welcome the Faith! God be with you and your wife; you are most welcome here. There can never be too many traditional Catholics.
We are not all so different from each other; we're trying to save our souls just like yourself.
Benedicamus Domino!

I would be too. I know several people who have gone that route in search of meaning, including some whose childhood Catholic education left them thinking the Church didn't offer any answers, or the deep spiritual experiences they crave.
